Williams-Rhodes can make a five-yard catch look spectacular, or turn a short punt return into something that looks more like a couple dance moves.
In Saturday night's blowout of Southern Miss, all of those talents were on display, as the true-sophomore finished with 127 all-purpose yards and a pair of touchdowns.
"I don't think we emphasized him any more, maybe he was just on the field a little more, I don't know. But dude's electric, a playmaker, I mean dude can play some football," said senior quarterback Joe Southwick.
"You know, we're trying to do our best to move him around, and get him the ball, and we do understand that when we get him the ball he's going to make things happen. That was really a spectacular catch, that was a hard catch, and I didn't know if he caught it. But I think he's probably the only guy on the team who coulda caught it. That thing was low and away, and that's the guy you want when it's low and away," added head coach Chris Petersen.
Short guys and tall guys will get a little extra rest this week as the Broncos have a bye in their schedule.
The Broncos jump back into their Mountain West Conference schedule next week when they travel to Logan, UT for a match up against the Utah State Aggies. That game is a 6 pm (MT) kickoff on the CBS Spots Network.
