The Broncos have dropped both of the games Jeff Elorriaga missed with concussion symptoms, and barely made it past Fresno State when he was limited to just 18 minutes after aggravating his injury.
It's easy to see Boise State's would rather have Elorriaga on the court and the same goes for the Jeff, at least according to his teammates.
"Yeah, I think it's killing him so much it's making his head hurt worse. But you know, we talked, and Jeff is a team guy, you know, he wanted to be there every second he gets. And if it weren't for the coaches and the doctors telling him not to play, and not to travel, he would have came and been in that battle with us," said senior center Kenny Buckner.
"Oh, no question. And that's this day and age in sports. All your life you're trained to be, 'Hey you're tough, you can get out there, and play.' And you can't mess around with it when it's this. I mean it's not a matter of being tough, it's not a matter of not being tough, it's a matter of doing the right thing," said head coach Leon Rice.
Still no word on whether Jeff Elorriaga will be cleared to join the Broncos on Wednesday night, but they sure could use him.
The Broncos hit the road to take on Colorado State. The Rams are one of four Mountain West teams ranked, or picking up votes in the latest polls. Tip time in Fort Collins, Colorado is 7 pm (MTN).
