Seventy-one years ago today, the Japanese surprise attack on the U.S. fleet at Hawaii shocked the nation and pushed America into World War II.
Ninety-year-old Wayne Fairchild of Nampa served in the Navy. He says Pearl Harbor upset his life.
"You didn't know what was going to happen," he said. "You weren't sure what you'd be doing."
In honor of Pearl Harbor Day, a World War II Curtis P-40 took to the skies over Nampa: a graceful salute to the gallantry of a vanishing generation, men and women who will never be forgotten.
