Sheriff: Man sets BMW on fire, still owes bank for $20K loan
KUNA, Idaho (KBOI) -- A 25-year-old Boise who man purposely set his BMW on fire in the desert outside of Kuna has been arrested and charged, officials say.
The Ada County Sheriff's Office says Steven M. Carter drove the vehicle to the desert, poured gasoline over the BMW and set it on fire last month. Carter still owes a local bank $20,000 for the vehicle.
Deputies say the 2006 BMW 325L, discovered near Pleasant Valley and Thompson Roads, was totally gutted.
He now faces up to 10 years in prison for the third degree arson charge.
