Security camera footage, citizen tip help police nab robbery suspect
CALDWELL, Idaho (KBOI) - Caldwell Police say security footage and a citizen tip helped them arrest a man who they say robbed a Stinker station in Caldwell Friday.
Officers were called to the Stinker station at 7th and Cleveland Boulevard in Caldwell for a reported robbery around 7:15 p.m. Friday. They were able to put out a suspect vehicle description with the help of security camera footage.
Then, just before 9:00 p.m. Friday, a citizen called police to report a reckless driver who they said was speeding and running through red lights. The description given to police matched the vehicle description. Officers later spotted the same vehicle parked behind a restaurant and bar on Cleveland Boulevard in Caldwell.
Officers say they waited for the man to walk back out to his car, when they arrested them.
Jose Diaz was booked into the Canyon County Jail, and is charged with armed robbery. Police say more charges may be filed as they continue their investigation.
