Police say the woman told investigators that a man came to her apartment complex in the 400 block of NW 9th Street Friday afternoon asking about doing some yard work.
The woman says the man followed her inside her home so she could get the landlord's phone number, and that's when he attacked her.
She told police that the man sexually assaulted her, then tried to choke her to death.
Eventually, the man left. The woman told police that she was physically unable to get help until later.
Ontario Police describe the attacker as having dark skin, in his 20s, between 5'1" and 5'7" tall and has a slender build.
He has short, dark hair, and has 2-3 marks, possible freckles, on each cheek.
