RUPERT, Idaho (AP) - A south-central Idaho man who police say brandished a pistol in Rupert has been charged with felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The Times-News reports in a story on Thursday that court documents say Jose Arteaga-Ruiz drove slowly back and forth on South Forth Street on New Year's Day in a green Honda.

Witnesses say Arteaga-Ruiz stopped and pulled an item from his trunk. One witness says Arteaga-Ruiz pointed a pistol at him and told him to watch his back.

Arteaga-Ruiz is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 11.
