Mosquitoes with West Nile found in Payette County
FRUITLAND, Idaho (KBOI) -- They are back.
Payette County officials say mosquitoes collected in a trap earlier this week have tested positive for the West Nile virus.
Last year, the virus wasn't detected in the county for another two weeks.
"The detection of West Nile virus is one of the primary reasons that we do adult mosquito surveillance," said Kellie Metcalf, Payette County Mosquito Abatement District program director.
Crews will spray affected problem areas using backpacks, ATVs and truck mounted sprayers.
