Preliminary reports say the man's body was laying partially in a small canal near the duck pond just below Crescent Rim Dr. investigators believe he is a local transient. The body was noticed by a family taking pictures near the water who immediately called 911 at 5:44 p.m.
On Monday, the Ada County Coroner's office identified the body as James Allen, 47, a local transient.
Boise Police Detectives are investigating the death, but won't know if there was any foul play involved until the coroner finishes his reports. Officers think the man has been dead for a couple of day due to the state of the body.
Because he was partially in the water the fire department had to be called out to help extract the man's body. The coroner should be able to identify the man, and know his cause of death in the next couple of days.
