BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) -- A man was hit by a driver while crossing the crosswalk at Myrtle and 13th. He was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police say they are cracking down and enforcing the pedestrian rules more strictly. Officers want everyone to pay more attention on the road.
The driver was cited for not yielding to a pedestrian.
"We seem to have a lot more of these accidents happening, especially in the morning hours. People are just not paying attention," Corporal Jennifer Oster said.
Jessica Hansen says she generally feels safe walking around Boise, but sill has to keep her guard up.
"I do almost get a few little close calls, and it makes your heart race and you have to kind of pause for a second and be like, oh gosh I almost got hit," Hansen said.
And some people like Amy Byrne are not taking any chances.
"I wear bright colors when I walk," said Byrne.
