Local students walk out of school to protest Education Secretary Betsy DeVos
BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) —
Students from across the Treasure Valley walked out of school Thursday to protest Education Secretary Betsy DeVos.
The group's organizer, a student from Borah High, told KBOI 2News that they want to send a loud message to Idaho lawmakers that they don't support President Trump's cabinet member.
The Boise School District says any student that participated and did not have a parent's permission to leave school, will received an unexcused absence.
"Fight, fight, fight, fight education is our right," students were heard chanting.
