Idaho State trooper OK after crash along I-84 near McDermott
NAMPA, Idaho (KBOI) —
Two people were taken to the hospital and an Idaho State Trooper was hit in a multiple vehicle crash along I-84 outside Nampa.
Troopers say a pickup truck side-swiped a semi before crashing into a car that was pulled over by an ISP motorcycle officer.
The trooper was talking to the driver who was pulled over when the crash happened, which caused him to be briefly pinned between the truck and the jersey barrier, but he was able to climb over the barrier. The trooper was taken to the hospital to be evaluated but ISP says he is expected to be fine.
Troopers say drivers should expect delays through the commute. The extent of the two drivers' injuries are not known.
Because the crash involves an ISP trooper, the Canyon County Sheriff's Office is handling the investigation.
