"The three or four inches that is up there right now is very packable. Yeah, that's the good stuff. If we can keep that going with these series of storms coming in we think we can get open, hopefully in the next week or two," says Alan Moore, Bogus Basin general manager.
Meanwhile, Brundage is not quite ready either. Although the top of the mountain easily has over three feet of snow, rain over the weekend has left the base area very crusty and in bad need of grooming, which can't be done unless they get more snow.
Brundage picked up a few more inches this morning, but warmer air could bring rain again tonight. Sun Valley is still the only resort in southwest Idaho that is open for business, and thriving on snow.
The resort picked up over two feet this weekend and got pounded with snow once again today.
