Boise Fire says a freon leak was reported at a St. Luke's medical office building on 1st and Bannock. Firefighters found a freon leak in the basement. There's no threat to the workers in the building and no evacuations were ordered. Haz Mat crews are on scene.
Five patients were affected and were taken to the main St. Lukes building.
The leak, which was caused by a mechanical failure, can lower oxygen levels, officials say. The building is currently being ventilated and the levels are slowly coming down.
A flood was also reported at the Givens Pursley law building down the street on 6th and Bannock. Firefighters say they found a flood in the basement along with smoke. The building was briefly evacuated. Employees in the Old Spaghetti Factory were also briefly evacuated.
Traffic signals are out around the block due to the power outage.
