Fire fighters say the call came in at about 2 a.m. Wednesday at a home on 39th Street.
"We arrived to see flames in the second floor - the heat was problem for crews that arrived on scene trying to put the fire out," Chief Don Gifford told KBOI 2News.
Renovation work was being done on the two-story home, which was broken up into four different apartments.
One of the occupants was checked for smoke inhalation and was released at the scene. One firefighter was taken away by ambulance; we are making calls to find out how he's doing.
