District: Roughly 1,000 students absent after Skyview High School threat

The Nampa School District told KBOI 2News that roughly 300 plus students were in attendance. The school has 1,315 students enrolled.

About 1,000 students were absent at Skyview High School Tuesday after a threat of a school shooting was found in a bathroom late last week.

The Nampa School District told KBOI 2News that roughly 300 plus students were in attendance. The school has 1,315 students enrolled. The final attendance records could vary as school attendance workers are still going through phone messages left from parents.

The threat had called for a shooting just before 10:30 a.m., but no acts of violence occurred.

"Morale is good at the school today and learning is continuing," said Kathleen Tuck, Nampa Schools spokesman. "We had a strong law enforcement and administrative presence at the entrance and in the halls and haven't seen any problems."

Nampa Police told KBOI 2News that no suspect has been identified at this time and no one is in custody.
