That adds more experienced fire managers and increases the fire's priority for getting needed resources.
The fire has burned 7,000 acres in Gem and Boise Counties but the Department of Lands says no structures or homes are threatened at this time.
A spokeswoman for the Department of Lands says good progress was made overnight.
The fire started Saturday but the cause remains under investigation.
Two hundred firefighters are working the blaze, with 15 engines.
