BPD: Boise men caught drinking beer after stealing booze

BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) - Two Boise men have been booked into the Ada County Jail after an alleged illegal beer run.

Boise PD says officers were called for a burglary at a retail store on West Overland Tuesday night. Employees tell police that 29-year-old Steven Gomez entered the store, grabbed two 30- packs of beer and ran out the door without paying for the booze.

The employee saw Gomez get into a waiting vehicle, which sped off.

With information provided by witnesses, officers found Gomez and 34-year-old Eugene Gomez at a home on the 300 block of White Cloud Drive. The suspects were inside the garage drinking the beer, BPD says.

Steven Gomez has been booked on a felony burglary charge while Eugene had a felony warrant out of Nevada.
