      Boise firefighters save four-legged friend

      BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) - Boise Firefighters rescued a small dog over the weekend after they found it alone and close to death in an apartment.


      Officials were called to the apartment in northwest Boise after a elderly woman was reported deceased inside. Firefighters found a pug that was without water for a few days and having trouble breathing.


      Firefighters Lutz and Elsberry gave the pug oxygen using a dog mask and fluids through an IV. The dog was taken to the Idaho Humane Society for follow-up care and is now doing OK.


      The family of the deceased elderly female said Berney the pug was very important to them and they appreciate their help.
