According to spokesperson Col. Hans Bush said Bergdahl hasn't had a TV since arriving in the U.S., and this is a part of the process.
"Gradually introducing them to how they were portrayed in the public narrative and the media is a deliberate part of phase three."
The colonel could not comment on whether or not Bergdahl was only being exposed to stories during his capture or if he was shown news reports from after his release when some harsh criticism was leveled at him surrounding the circumstances of his capture.
This news comes just as it was announced that a two star general will be leading the investigation into whether or not Bergdahl deserted.
It's still unknown if he's had any contact with his family. During the first part of his treatment Bowe declined, and doctors said the choice was up to him.
A family spokesperson for the Bergdahl's said they are not commenting about his treatment or their travel plans. They have asked for privacy.
