Back to school stressing out...parents?
MERIDIAN, Idaho (KBOI) - Last-minute back to school shoppers are flooding stores throughout the Treasure Valley to get all of the supplies on their children's lists. And many parents say those supply lists, given out by the schools, are really stressing them out.
We found Brad Arendt shopping with his two daughters in Meridian. Each girl has a list of her own with about 15 required items on it.
"Probably some of the toughest things are finding the very specific notepads and spiral notebooks," Arendt said, "College ruled one, wide ruled another...it makes it challenging, to say the least."
And on almost every list are supplies for the classroom as a whole. Some parents KBOI talked to weren't too happy about that, but Arendt says he understands.
"If you expect the teachers to get all of the supplies for all of the students during class, it'd be an unreasonable burden on them," he said, "So yeah, we're going to be getting those and bringing the kleenex and hand sanitizer and all that sort of stuff. It's just part of the classroom experience."
