MARSING, Idaho (KBOI) --- The Owyhee County Sheriff says 21-year-old Sara Bronson has been killed after a vehicle rolled off a ridge in remote Owyhee County Wednesday.
Officials say the woman is from Wilson, Idaho.
The others in the vehicle were 35-year-old Jacob Howard Canoy of Melba as well as two boys, ages 5 and 8 years old that the sheriff asked KBOI not to identify. All were taken to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.
Bronson's boyfriend called 911 immediately after the crash.
"I blew a tire and we went down a Cliffside," Canoy said, startled and out of breath. "I have a 5-year-old and an 8-year-old and we're all very injured. My girlfriend's pinned underneath the truck and bleeding from the head."
The man had difficulty telling the 911 operator where they were.
"I can't. I am on the back side of the Owyhees. I can see...I don't know where I am."
The crash site's location made for a challenging rescue.
"It was very difficult," said Owyhee County Chief Deputy Lynn Bowman. "They were on the phone with a relative who was on the phone to our dispatch. They said they were about four and a half miles from the motorcycle parking area, but the road is only about two miles."
The vehicle wreckage was spotted by crews in the air ambulance. Officials told KBOI 2News the vehicle was driving in an area (near the Hemingway Butte trailhead) which is meant for dirt bikes and ATVs.
Jacob Canoy is in serious condition at St Alphonsus.
