WENDELL, Idaho -- An 18-year-old died Saturday afternoon when she drove off the right shoulder of I-84 and rolled her car, state police said.
Officials report that Sonya Alania, 18, of Gooding, was headed west on Interstate 84 near Wendell. At around 5:50 p.m., Alania's '04 Chevy Cavalier went off the right shoulder at milepost 154 and went into a roll.
Idaho State Police troopers said that Alania was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was thrown halfway out of the car.
The right lane of I-84 was blocked at the crash scene as investigators worked the scene.
