After Chris was diagnosed with Leukemia, he made a promise to himself to create "a drawing a day, to keep the doctor at bay."
He's since turned his creations into a book series, documenting every step of his successful treatment process.
Ayers talents include character concepts for movies such as Men in Black II, the Fantastic Four and the Santa Claus II.
Certified Music Practitioner Vicky Jekich, CMP of Merina Healing Arts organized the event, showing how patients and their caregivers can better cope through the process (before, during and after) with the arts, whether that's music, art, journals or more.
Ayers showed dozens of photos related to his Daily Zoo books, and explained how each photo would detail a feeling, a mood... whatever was going through his mind in his journey to successfully beat Leukemia.
The night also included drums from a local musician and a poetry reading from a Treasure Valley resident.
Ayers concluded the night with a question and answer session, and also autographed books for those in attendance.
