Concussion study looks at brain activity after injury

BOISE - Giving your brain a break after a concussion could improve your recovery according to new research.

A study in the journal Pediatrics looked at concussion patients between the ages of 8 and 23 and how much cognitive activity they got including reading, doing homework and playing video games.

Researchers found young people who taxed their brains after a head injury took about 100 days to recover compared to 20 to 50 days for those who had less cognitive activity.
