This marks the first time the Stampede have helped bring an NBA preseason game to Boise. The Blazers have been an affiliate of the Stampede since 2007 and the Jazz were affiliates of Idaho from 2006-07 and 2011-12. Situated almost equally between the two NBA cities, Boise is located 430 miles from Portland and 346 miles from Salt Lake City.
"We're thrilled to showcase an NBA preseason game with our NBA hybrid single affiliate Portland Trail Blazers," Stampede President and General Manager Steve Brandes said. "There are many Blazers fans in the Treasure Valley and Pacific Northwest, and playing in Boise will bring the highest level of basketball to the great state of Idaho. Playing the Utah Jazz, another great team with a fantastic local fan base, only adds to the value for our fans and fans of basketball."
Stampede season ticket holders will have the first chance at Portland-Utah tickets, and fans who renew their season tickets by April 6 will get 20% off their Portland-Utah tickets. If Stampede season ticket holders renew by May 1, they still have first rights to their regular season ticket location for the NBA preseason game. After May 1, new season ticket holders will have the first opportunity to buy seats for the Portland-Utah game from seats not sold through season ticket renewals. Single tickets for the game will range from $15-$40 and fans interested in sitting courtside should call the Stampede front office to check availability.
CenturyLink Arena is expected to slightly adjust the court and seating arrangements to allow for a maximum capacity of 5,200.
