Rocky Mountain, Eagle to meet for 5A baseball title

      Rocky Mountain scored eight unanswered runs against Mountain View to rally for a 8-3 semifinal victory Friday night in Boise.

      Earlier in the day, defending state champion Eagle beat Timberline 7-3 in the other semifinal.

      Bishop Kelly and Pocatello will meet for the 4A state championship game after winning semifinals today. Pocatello's Brodie Cooper pitched a no-hitter against Middleton and hit a two-run home run in the win.

      Boise State football commit and Fruitland baseball player Joey Martarano hit a grand slam as the Grizzlies rolled into the state 3A championship game for the second straight year. Defending champion Fruitland and Kimberly will meet Saturday at 4 p.m. Kimberly is the defending state third-place finisher.

      The Pilgrims and defending state champion Dragons meet for the state title for the second straight season. New Plymouth won the title in 2010.

      Potlach 5, Genesee 4
      Wilder 12, Horseshoe Bend 7

      Potlach advanced to the championship game, where it will face the winner of Saturday's Genesee-Wilder loser-out game. Horseshoe Bend was eliminated.
