Kuna purse snatcher busted after he returns to store, police say
BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) -- A 58-year-old Kuna man has been booked after he allegedly snatched a woman's purse and then went shopping with her credit cards soon after, Boise Police says.
Boise Police says back in March, a woman called police because she discovered her purse was stolen after she accidentally left it in a shopping cart at a store on the 8300 block of West Overland Road.
"The victim says within minutes she realized she'd left her purse and returned to look for it but it was gone and had not been turned into the store as lost property," Boise PD said in a news release.
With the assistance of store employees, police were able to develop a description of the man leaving the store.
On Tuesday, employees recognized the suspect, Jimmy Leytham, who had returned to the store, and called police. He was arrested and booked on grand theft and fraudulent use of a financial transaction card, which are both felonies.
