But they only managed to avoid capture for about 15 minutes.
ISP says a trooper tried to pull over the driver of a 1996 Chevy Lumina for a traffic violation near Main Street and Central Drive in Meridian at about 10:30 a.m. The driver, police say, Tabatha Ellis of Meridian, took off and drove away.
ISP says because of public safety concerns, the pursuit was called off on Cadillac Drive near Locust Grove Road.
Soon after, however, an Ada County Sheriff's deputy spotted the vehicle in a parking lot on Emerald Street. Three people from the vehicle, including the driver, were apprehended. Ellis, 24, was booked on felony eluding a police officer as well as drug paraphernalia.
One of the passengers in the vehicle, Norma Garcia was also arrested. The 27-year-old from Nampa was arrested for a felony warrant out of Canyon County for failure to appear on a drug possession charge.
The other passenger, Taylor Herren, was cited for drug paraphernalia and released.
