House that collapsed last week site of major gas leak in North End

BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) - A gas leak forced officials to evacuate some homes due to a gas line rupture in the North End.

Boise Fire officials say the gas main broke at a home at 5120 W. Hill Road.

      No injuries were reported.

Witnesses say a backhoe was being used to excavate a house that had burned down last week, when they struck a natural gas main.

Hill Road in the area was closed while Intermountain Gas crews worked on the line.

It reopened just after 6 p.m.
