When they arrived on scene crews found a semi with a hay grinder on fire. Next to it was several flammable materials including stacks of hay, an outbuilding, and a grain silo. Fire fighters managed to knock down the flames in a manner of minutes before it could spread.
Crews from Eagle, Star, and Middleton Fire Departments responded and stay on scene for several hours looking for flare ups. Eagle Division Chief James Vincent tells KBOI they won't be able to determine the cause of the fire until Monday because it was too dark for investigators to see.
A neighbor was the one who saw the flames and called police. The owner of the hay cutter was working until 4 p.m. before shutting everything down for the day. The truck owner says this will cause a big delay in business because this is their busiest time of the year.
