BPD: Woman had drugs, unsafe home with children inside
BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) -- A Boise woman is facing a slew of felonies after Boise Police officers say they found several children living in a deplorable home with drugs around.
Boise Police officers say they were called to a home on North Five Mile Road near Faiview Tuesday evening after an anonymous tip reported drugs were being used in the house in the presence of children.
Authorities say Gia Rose, 34, allowed officers inside the home. They say they found six children inside the house along with multiple marijuana and meth related devices, syringes, meth and other paraphernalia.
Boise PD says the house also had open electrical outlets, no working smoke detectors, a non-working refrigerator with perishable food items inside. There was also food and garbage scattered throughout the residence along with feces in the living area.
Five children were placed into the custody of state health and welfare officials. One child, who was visiting, was released to their parent.
Rose has been charged with five felony injury to a child counts, possession of a controlled substance and two drug-related misdemeanors.
