MERIDIAN, Idaho (KBOI) - A 10-year-old year old boy says he was able to run away from a vicious dog but it still got a hold of him and pulled him down.
Justice Penny says the dog bit all the way through his shirt, a hoodie and into his arm.
"He scared me super bad and ran as fast as I could that way," Justice said.
The 10- year old boy says that he was at the front door of his friend's house. He says a neighborhood dog jumped a fence and came after him. The 10-year-old old claims he tore off but the dog caught up with him. He had a big deep puncture wound just under his left arm as paramedics were checking him out.
Around half a dozen Meridian Police showed up and cornered the pit bull mix that was still loose. Police say they didn't want to put the dog down but they had their pepper spray out and ready in case the dog charged. They were eventually able to coax the dog into the owners back yard and close it up as they waited for the Humane Society to arrive.
The Humane Society says that the dog will be quarantined for 10 days to see if it has any sickness. They say that once the owner picks up the dog they will be ticked for having the dog at large and that bites. The Humane Society says that the violation is a misdemeanor charge and had a fine of up to $300 and or 90 days in jail.
