#1 Eastern Oregon controls Coyotes, 60-45

CALDWELL, Idaho - Eastern Oregon used a 15-1 run over an eight minute stretch spanning both halves to erase a College of Idaho lead, as the top-ranked Mountaineers became the first NAIA team to 20 wins with a 60-45 victory over The College of Idaho.

The Yotes (9-10, 5-4 CCC) took a 17-16 lead on a Taylor Pruett three-point play with seven minutes left in the first half, but did not score from the field again until early in the second half - as a J.D. Esters three-point play for the Mounties gave EOU a 31-18. Sydney Donaldson tried to keep C of I close, scoring 15 second half points - including seven straight to pull the Yotes within 35-28 at the 14-minute mark. However, Eastern (20-1, 9-0) clamped down defensively - limiting the hosts to just one made field goal over the next 12 minutes, extending the lead to 53-36 with two minutes left.

Cody Thurmond had 17 points off the bench for EOU, with Craig Tucker adding 11, as 10 different Mountaineers scored in the win. Eastern had a 54-35 edge on the glass.

The Yotes made just 26-percent of their field goal tries in the loss.
